Discussion regarding the War in Iraq
Posted by: mike (IP Logged)

Given that the current hot news topic is the war on Iraq, what do people, having read the information presented on this site, think regarding the war?

For starters, take a look at this essay which I wrote on this site - [www.bevin.de].

Do you agree or disagree with my argument. Is the war justified?

WMD's?

Um, where are they George? That WAS your reason for going in, right? Now if you hold all the major cities and bunkers and bases, and haven't found any, and the UN inspectors couldn't find any, what does that tell you?

I think that now the line might be that all the WMDs have been moved to Syria, so now the US has to go in there and get them (and then they'll probably make their way to Iran etc etc) :).

I think it's pretty sick. What is wrong with the American people? The government works FOR THE PEOPLE. Why does this clown, bushtler allowed to do this?

I think it would be naive on anyone's part to expect a fair representation of the publik interest from any of the last dozen or so administrations. Let's face it, the people for the most part either agree, go along with or don't really care about the ethikal integrity of the government. They don't know any better. They are not educated. Any change in the power structure would likely result in mass unemployment, loss of health benefits, poverty, and oppression. Like advanced cancer, the cure will most likely result in the death of the patient.

Enough rant. It almost sounds like the Bush part deux administration is trying to clean up the mess we made in the first place over in Iraq, as far as weapons of mass deception are concerned. Is this wrong? I suppose that it doesn't make it right, exactly, either?

Even if we find a WMD smoking gun, it's the gun of propaganda which, like the cartoon, shoots nothing but a flag with a humorous caption. Sucked in the critics. Once the issue is killed, there will be no energy left to go after the _real_ stinky fish.

Also, it's a small planet, and the leaders need to provide resources for their people, and that's just what our government does. Let's not get sidetracked by the WMD issue, better focus on what we are receiving for the investment we've made in blood and money, not to mention international tension. The bright side may be that we have finally de-cloaked for all to see our true motive, and dropped the rosy pretense.

Remember the F-111s that went after Moamar Qadaffi's family inadvertently hit a French facility in Libya, back in '85 or so. France did not want us using their airspace for the mission. Valuable lesson in international affairs there, eh?

i think war is not the way 2 settle this problem.all people in the world know that bush have the power but dont think that he's like god 2 controll the other country.thats was too much!people in iraq have their right 2 live in a their country with their own way.we cannot forced them 2 agree 4 all our opinion.they can develop their country if bush give them chance.this really important 2 make a peace not a war.give them chance to built up their country.dont forced them and dont make war to them.so many people died because all this stupid war!MAKE PEACE NOT WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
